Am I getting the bandwidth I paid for?

There are many web sites out there that will offer to test your bandwidth for you. Unfortunately all are not created equal. Many sites exist in congested datacenters or on the other side of the country and when performing speed tests location matters. 

Here are a few speed test sites that are a little closer to the WindWave network and can provide enough throughput to accurately test your connection.

There are a lot of factors that can impact your test results. Here is what we recommend:

• For your initial test do not use a wireless connection.
• Run the tests multiple times from multiple sites.
• Try through out the day recording your results.

Depending on your results please contact us for further analysis of the results. We can use our equipment monitoring to help locate any issues you may have as well as provide detailed bandwidth reporting on your current usage.

Finally we have compiled a list of common issues that impact your bandwidth:

• Old or damaged network cables.
• Aged firewalls or network routers (originally designed for 5 - 10mb links).
• Wireless connections with interference.
• Local users streaming content during testing.
